More investment is coming- Feb 2020

We are delighted to announce that NCC will be making substantial improvements to the Prudhoe Riverside playground, and these should be completed by Easter this year.
We made an approach for the funding as we see tourism,leisure & education as vital parts of the towns future.
Improving Prudhoe- Feb 2020

We asked NCC officers to take away a broken down playground from the top of Cockshot Dene.
It had been built a few years ago but fell into disrepair very quickly.
Improving road safety- Feb 2020
Residents contacted us about #RoadSafety in this part of town.
Vehicles traveling far too fast, yes the speed limit is 60mph but that is the maximum and people should take into account road conditions.

A target date for the completion of the work is 22nd May 2020.
Before that a period of consultation and planning will take place, expressions of interest from contractors will also have to be completed.

The legal proceedings which were due to take place in December 2020 have been adjourned until late March 2021.
NCC Legal advice continues to be that nothing can be progressed until the legal matters are finalised.

Permission has been granted for better fencing around the site.
A NCC legal team and NCC officers at a high level are progressing what continues to be a very complicated issue.
We sympathise with residents living close to the site and wish to reassure them that we are pushing as hard as practicable for a solution.

Update – 1/2/20
For info the latest is that we are awaiting for the electrical costs so we can complete the overall cost then we can send it out for construction. At that point we should get a likely construction date.
