Current evidence indicates that most cases are relatively mild, with patients experiencing flu-like symptoms.
Older residents or those with weakened immune systems or long-term conditions may experience more severe symptoms, which is why it is important to help protect ourselves and each other.

Local volunteer support.
This has been set up so help can be provided locally, and is now being coordinated via the Prudhoe Parish Council – CLICK HERE
Check out the Prudhoe Covid 19 aid Facebook page – CLICK HERE
Leaflets have been delivered to every house in the Parish with contact details of a local volunteer who has kindly offered to assist if people find they need some extra help.
If no one has volunteered for a particular area the contact will be shown as PTC with a dedicated mobile phone number given.
Please only use this service if you really need to – such as you are unable to get out (not just staying at home) and only if you can not get support from family or friends.
How to help the volunteers help people around the town.
- Many local shops are now doing deliveries in & around Prudhoe, you may wish to try their services rather than calling upon a volunteer.
- Set up a shopping online account so food deliveries can be made directly to you, many supermarkets offer preferential deliveries or click & collect for vulnerable people.
- Pay bills using direct order / standing order.
- Order prescriptions online and also get them delivered
- Use them only for essentials and plan ahead rather than making regular requests.
Even if the Prudhoe residents do not have online access their families or friends elsewhere may be able to assist in setting up such accounts to get essentials delivered etc, this would really help free up the volunteers.
Local business may have their own websites / social media – They are also encouraged to use our secondary facebook page – PrudhoeNland to advertise. CLICK HERE
