What should you do ?
Please adhere to the advice that the Government and medical experts give out, this is changing as more tests are being conducted.
Please check our dedicated post on this site with links to the latest advice.
DO NOT ignore the advice as you can put yourself and many other people at risk.
Northumberland County Council.
Extensive plans for major incidents are always in place, these are tried & tested many times.
A briefing was held yesterday for all County Councillors which outlined the work that is currently being done and will be put in place at the appropriate time.
The plan involves education social care, health services and local services etc.
NCC Staff may be redeployed to assist in subject areas outside their normal remit, they are receiving training and support.
Many NCC staff members are working from home.
NCC is of course in close contact with the NHS, Police and other emergency services locally and nationally.
Prudhoe
There is an increasing number of people working from home or self isolating.
Already we are becoming aware of some issues with them being in confined areas, such as boredom & feeling low.
It would appear that many people are watching constant TV coverage & social media feeds about the virus and this is having a deep impact upon them.
There is a level of FAKE news on social media and some inappropriate comments, even locally.
This is very unhelpful in so many ways.
SHOP LOCAL
We have many fantastic businesses in various parts of #Prudhoe
Please don’t just #ShopLocal but also show the business you really appreciate the service they provide especially at this time.
They want to give you the best, but they are sometimes up against it.
It is not their fault that supplies may not be on hand just now, remember that they are facing the same situation as you & may have family and friends that they are caring for or other issues in their lives.
Please do not stockpile
Unfortunately there has been a couple of unpleasant incidents on & offline with people acting inappropriately directing their anger at others.
Lets keep #Prudhoe the #FriendliestTown
