County Cllrs update 2/5/20

Dear All

This is our latest update being provided during this pandemic.

We are continuing to support residents and the wider Prudhoe Community in a variety of ways everyday.

Although our more traditional methods of operating have had to be curtailed.

Check out our dedicated Covid 19 page –CLICK HERE

But rest assured that if you need us we are there at the end of our e mails or mobiles.

We do receive a large number of enquiries every day and will respond quickly.

Our social media platforms are still being used to provide information we hope is useful and supportive, but we do not respond to questions raised on social media.

A few residents post on their own SM platforms or groups expecting us to see the post and deal with a query, we will not see it, please contact us via e mail or mobile if you wish to report an issue.

Or for everyday issues report them online to NCC or other / most appropriate organisations etc.

BUSINESS RATES

Members of the Revenues and Benefits, Audit and wider Finance Team have now processed over £71m of business rates grants to Northumberland businesses which has made us the 4th best performing Council in the Country.

We would like to thank all staff who are involved in this and we are very grateful for your excellent work which has ensured that local businesses receive the grants they are entitled to at the earliest opportunity and although there is still work to do, you have really done us proud.  Well done!

NORTHUMBERLAND COMMUNITIES TOGETHER

Our Northumberland Communities Together initiative continues to provide a wide range of support to communities and we have staff working together from lots of different areas to provide these services which are:

  • to help staff the telephone helplines in our “hub” to receive and make calls to vulnerable residents

  • to deliver food parcels across the county

  • to ensure that we coordinate stocks of food and PPE

  • to receive donations which are made to the Council and distribute to wider community organisations accordingly.

We keep in contact with NCC officers to ensure we hit the ground running with projects held up by the lockdown.

Discussions everyday with representatives of PTC

Regular discussions with the NCC Hubs, Police, Medical teams, social housing providers,  Community organisations & groups also Guy Opperman MP.
