One of our local election pledges was to stop the sale of the current NCC HQ site in Morpeth and to build a new £80 million ‘palace for councillors’ in Ashington.
We listened to residents and the majority were in favour of cancelled the above.
We are delighted to report that the sale has now stopped.
Additional information will follow.
In case you did not realise the previous administration were the ones who said the cost was up to £80m. Click here (June 2016)

Residents told us that they have been trying to get bollards in this area for years without success.
This followed cars crashing outside on two separate occasions.
Residents said their lives were being very disrupted due to this.
We didn’t ‘bury our heads’ and ignore the issue.
We took this on and are delighted to see the work is underway and the residents are a lot happier & safer.
Getting a fair share for Tynedale.
