Signage improved

NCC believes that only signs that are really nessercery should be in place to save confusion, distraction of drivers and avoid clutter.

But at times the lives of residents can be improved by adding signs, such as the one requested by residents in the below street who suffered severe inconvenience due to HGV’s taking the wrong turning following sat navs.

The problem has now been reduced greatly now.

Police / Councillor patrol

Saturday night was spent out on patrol with Northumbria Police in #Prudhoe.

The latest of our combined patrols, working together to help support the #PrudhoeCommunity

Occasionally we hear inaccurate information and wish to reassure the public again as follows-

There is 24 hr Police cover for the Town.
The new Police station is open for the same hours as the old one.
The old building was in a poor condition and was no longer fit for purpose, much of the space was unused for many years.
The number of people going into the old building reduced greatly as many would prefer to make contact via telephone or online, the new reception area is brighter and feels more approachable & accessible now the police / public interaction has increased.
The Community team work a variety of shifts including night shifts.
Attention to areas is directed as a result of information being provided.
There is no reduction in the establishment at the Prudhoe base from the old base, in fact it has recently been increased.

Prudhoe is a safe place to live work or visit.
